About Us
The Colour Pot Company was founded in 2023 at the premises of Little Austria Nursery in Henley on Klip. The company was born from the shared vision of Gregory Whittal and Heinz Hochrinner, who sought to expand the nursery’s offering by creating a dedicated business focused on vibrant colour plants, seedlings, and innovative plant ranges.
With over 28 years of experience in the colour and seedling industry, Gregory partnered with Heinz to supply high-quality plants both to the Little Austria retail outlet and to garden centres across Gauteng and surrounding provinces.
Our journey has not been without challenges. In 2024, severe frost damage caused the loss of nearly R1 million in a single night, and setbacks such as poor soil batches tested our resilience. However, through dedication, passion, and perseverance, we have overcome obstacles and continue to build a strong, reliable, and sustainable horticultural business.
Today, The Colour Pot Company is supported by a dedicated team of six permanent staff members and one temporary worker, all committed to quality, service, and innovation in the industry.
